Initially conceived by Oxfam GB with advice from FairSay in 2004, the White Band website was managed in 2005 by Choike, and in 2006/2007 by OWSA.
The GCAP e-communications task-force redesigned it in April 2007 and the site was finally refurbished in September 2007 with a great support from FairSay. This work benefitted greatly from GCAP e-avocacy reviews and studies.
In 2008, it was technically supported by Mahiti and hosted at Amaze. In 2009 hosting was moved to Webfaction.
With limited resources, we are developping a web portal in 5 languages. Please be patient, it is a huge work and some pages are still in construction!
The GCAP web team is led by Helena Suarez, Web and New Media Coordinator and is composed of volunteer editors. GCAP would like to express its gratitude to the impressive work which is being done in the various languages by:
- French: Marie-Gabrielle Denizet (mgdenizet@club-internet.fr)
- Spanish: Sofia Libisch (sofia@lasociedadcivil.org) and Analia Bettoni (info@lasociedadcivil.org)
-
Portuguese: Dermeval Aires Jr (airesjr@gmail.com)
If you want to support, or to give feed-back, please contact the language volunteer editors.
All of the Whiteband Icons and Banners were designed by: Rena Cugelman/InterConnect - rena@kittyloco.com
The whiteband.org, whitebandbook.org and testimonies-whiteband.org websites are being maintained by the GCAP IFT Support Team, based at CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation.
